Thanks to everyone who joined our eleventh Governance Call!
To maintain a public record of the discussion, we’re sharing the call notes below. A recording of the call can be found above.
Reminders
Please read the Next Phases of the RadicleDAO post and the two active workstream temperature checks (Org Design, Re-evaluation of RadicleDAO stack) if you have not already!
Updates
- Org Design Workstream:
- Ange provided an update on their initial findings from contributor interviews. They recently posted an updates summary that can be found here! From the 19 contributors interviewed, they have recognized the varying levels in commitment and flexibility for core contributors. They found a general interest in collaboration while wanting to maintaining respect for autonomy. They need more research around compensation, i.e. role-based and project-based compensation. They plan to design parameters around these interview and further research into what other DAO are doing. They hope to have this research concluded by July.
- Radicle Grants [RGP]:
- Ecosystem Growth Fund [EGF]:
- The committee has been busy building out their strategy and have started funding their first proposals. They have a few draft proposals waiting for funding, including $50k worth of RAD and funding 30 days of code programme by WomenBuildWeb3 with $20k as they work to onboard more women into the space. Check out their new landing page here!

[Temperature Check] Re-evaluation of the RadicleDAO stack
- Shelby presented the temperature check workstream, which provides an overview of the current Radicle governance process & stack, what pain points currently exist, how our needs will change as we transition to DAO, and what tools we possibly could use to create the governance process and DAO of our dreams! We have been hosting various tooling demos on Discord over the past few months to get a good overview of what is out there. We will continue to host more demos and evaluate the needs of the Radicle community to help guide what tools would fit best. We also briefly discussed ways we could dogfood Radicle Drips/Workstreams to solve some of the tooling challenges going forward.
Next steps include gathering feedback from the community, mapping out priorities and matching them with corresponding tools, creating a timeline of tooling needs in correspondence with the Org Design workstream, and start testing/onboarding different tools.
